    Alfonso Cuaron


    Alfonso Cuarón nació en la Ciudad de México en 1961. Cuando era pequeño quería ser director o astronauta, pero como no quería entrar al ejército, se inclinó por el cine. Recibió su primera cámara a los 12 años, iniciando así su carrera como director ya que filmaba todo lo que veía.

    Era tanta su pasión por el séptimo arte que a veces le decía a su mamá que iría a casa de algún amigo y en realidad entraba a ver una película. Al terminar la preparatoria, Cuarón decidió estudiar cine en el Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, donde fue rechazado debido a su corta edad.

    Como su mamá no aprobaba sus estudios de cine, decidió entrar a la carrera de filosofía por las mañanas y en las tardes acudía al Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC).

    Alfonso Cuaron


    Alfonso Cuarón was born in Mexico City in 1961. When he was a child he wanted to be a director or an astronaut, but since he didn't want to join the army, he chose film. He received his first camera at the age of 12, thus beginning his career as a director, as he filmed everything he saw.

    His passion for the seventh art was so great that sometimes he would tell his mother that he was going to a friend's house and actually went in to see a movie. When he finished high school, Cuarón decided to study film at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, where he was rejected due to his young age.

    Since his mother did not approve of his film studies, he decided to study philosophy in the mornings and in the afternoons he went to the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC). While studying at CUEC, Cuarón collaborated in the short film Vengance is Mine, by Luis Estrada, which, due to the dissatisfaction of several teachers, led to his expulsion from the school.
