    El Mechudo




    En el lado del bello Golfo de California existe una Isla llamada San José, y al lado de esta isla se encuentra en una aparente miniatura en un mapa, la Isla de San Francisco, también llamada de San Francisquito; frente a estas dos islas se encuentra Punta Mechudo, lugar ubicado en San Evaristo a unas cuarenta millas de la Bahía de La Paz, y es ahí donde nace la leyenda “El Mechudo” que pertenece a los sudcalifornianos como la península misma, famosa y contada desde siempre, narra como un buceador de perlas se convierte en un ser de largos cabellos y barba que vive en el fondo del mar en una isla muy pequeña.
