    Silvestre Revueltas

    En el pueblo de Santiago Papasquiaro en Durango nacieron los hermanos Revueltas Sánchez, quienes forman parte integral de la cultura mexicana. Silvestre, Fermín, Rosaura y José destacaron en la vida artística; el apellido Revueltas se convirtió en un estandarte de genialidad y vanguardia artística.

    Silvestre nació el último día del S. XIX, violinista, compositor y director de orquesta, fue un artista adelantado a su época, junto con Carlos Chávez, protagonizó una revolución en la creación musical de nuestro país.

    SILVESTRE REVUELTAS, the free spirit of Mexican classical music Silvestre was born on the last day of the 19th century, violinist, composer and conductor, he was an artist ahead of his time, together with Carlos Chávez, he led a revolution in the musical creation of our country.

    He started his musical formation at the age of 7, later he studied at the Chicago Musical College where he obtained a diploma in violin, harmony and composition.
